Reporting & 3-Way Conferences
Term Two 3-Way Conferences will be held on June 8th & 9th. At these meetings parents, students and teachers will celebrate the growth moments of students linked to their personal goals, and then set the next steps for students to work towards during Term 3. Student reports will be available via the parent portal on Monday 21st June. Please take some time to read student reports and use all of the information to celebrate your child’s achievements. Our teachers are very proud of everything that our students have accomplished throughout Semester 1.
Student Sporting Achievements
Recently our middle/senior school students represented St James at the Rugby and Netball Carnival. It was terrific to hear of the excitement and pride that the kids showed whilst representing our school. I congratulate all those involved in these activities.

National Reconciliation Week
Week 7 was National Reconciliation Week, a time for all Australians to learn about the shared histories, cultures, and achievements of Indigenous Australians, and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia. Students learned more about this through a liturgy focused on developing each students’ understanding of respect and unity.
Term 2 Celebration of Learning
The Celebration of Learning Day for Term 2 will be held on Friday, June 25th. This is also the day that students will receive their Term 2 whole school reward (Mufti Dress, special treat and extra play). We hope that many parents and friends can join us for the activities listed below.
- 8:40am – 10am: School Assembly (Including the Public Speaking Finals).
- 11:20am-1:20pm: Play is the Way games and showcase.
- 1:20pm: Shared lunch (parents & students can order from the Canteen).
Public Holiday
Students (and staff) do not attend school on Monday, June 14th due to the Queen's Birthday Public Holiday; I hope everyone enjoys the mini-break!
Thumbs-up
- All students, staff and parents for their engagement in the Athletics carnival.
- Darcy & Eloise (Year 6) for attending the 200 Years of Catholic Education Mass in Lismore, and for representing St James with pride and reverence.

To conclude
Our bi-annual school fete is on this weekend: Sunday, June 6th! This day is set to be a fun and engaging time where kids and parents alike can play, laugh and share time together. I sincerely thank all those involved in organising and preparing for this event, and I hope to see many people sharing this occasion as a 'Family in Christ.'
With blessings,
Nic.
