Week 9, Term 2
Welcome
Dear Families,
Our recent school fete was a tremendous success! We thank and acknowledge the parental engagement that occurred in the lead-up and on the day of the fete; it was a proud moment in our school’s history as we gathered as a community filled with joy and community spirit. On behalf of St James Primary, we extend our gratitude to Amanda and the parent organising committee who facilitated the preparation of the fete and to the many, many parents who supported it in a myriad of ways. We also thank our sponsors who donated goods and services to our event; their support was invaluable. Building our community was our ultimate goal, which was achieved, but we also raised funds that will be used to enrich our learning environment for our students. The final net amount raised was $10,856.20. Wow!! Congratulations to the community of St James for making this event memorable and for the outstanding contribution it has offered our school and students.

Achievements from Term 2
Term 2 has been a positive and enriching time for our students, with everyone engaging in events and learning that has enhanced both wellbeing and educative outcomes. I am particularly proud of each student's behaviour, engagement and sense of pride that they gifted each other throughout Term 2. Well done kids! Below are some highlights of the Term.
Term 2 Highlights
Farewell Mrs Burton
At the end of Term 2, Mrs Burton will retire from St James and her career as a teacher. Chris has served as a teacher at St James since 2014, having taught classes across the school and more recently as our Science/Technology Teacher. On behalf of all staff, parents and students I congratulate Chris on her career achievements and thank her for all of the work, commitment and care she has offered our students and school. I wish Chris and her husband Vern all the very best for their retirement; may it be filled with good health, joy and God's blessings.
Winter Appeal
Thank you to everyone who contributed to the St Vincent's Winter Appeal. We have filled the school trolley over and over this year, which gives people in our local community support and items that make a wonderful difference in their lives. One of our Play is the Way lift rafts is "treat others as you would like them to treat you" and Luke's Gospel (Luke 6:31) tells us that we need to "Do to others as you would have them do to you." I think our Winter Appeal is certainly a testament to how we life these notions in our lives here at St James. Well done everyone!
