Week 5, Term 4
Welcome
Dear St James Community,
On Friday 29th October, the Year 6 students organised our annual Mission Fair; an opportunity for us all to share in the joy of building the Common Good and supporting the Dignity of Humanity.
I congratulate the Year 6 students on their outstanding efforts and thank all other students and their families for supporting this missionary event. As a community we raised $1,720.10 that will be donated to communities in most need - well done and thank you!

Year K-2 Camps
Our Year K-2 students thoroughly enjoyed their camp day on November 3th, where they engaged in at school events and had lots (and lots) of fun playing with their friends.

Student Electives
Traditionally during Term 4 our students engage in a range of activities that we call 'electives'; in 2021, due to the current environment, the 'electives' will be at-school based and we've extended this to include many key learning areas (sport, art, dance, science, etcetera). Students in Year 1 and 2 will circulate through a number of activities, Year 3- 6 students will have an opportunty to select an area of individual passion, whilst students in Kindergarten will engage in developmental play. We look forward to engaging our students in theses activities and watching them grow and develop, especially in their chosen fields.
Term 4 dates/events
Due to the ongoing COVID guidelines our Student Disco has been cancelled for now (this may occur if the rules around dancing and singing change). Also, due to the availability of Fr Wilber, the Year 6 Graduation Mass has been moved to Thursday, December 2nd. I thank all parents for supporting our Staff's professional learning that the pupil free days afforded them.
Thumbs-up
- Students and families for supporting our pupil free days;
- Students and families for engaging in the Mission Fair;
- Kinder/Year 1/Year 2 students for their excellent behaviour during their camp at school.
To conclude
On November 16th our 2022 kindergarten students will visit school. We look forward to welcoming them to our school and supporting their transition into the 7-year journey of Catholic education at St James Primary.
Regards,
Nic.
