School Hours & Supervision
Lessons commence each day at 8:40 am and conclude at 3:00 pm. The school grounds are open to students from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. Supervision will be provided from 8:15 am to 3:15 pm.
Special arrangements will be made concerning authorised school activities that require students' attendance at the School outside these hours.
Office Hours
The office hours are 8:15 am to 3:30 pm. Office staff can only conduct office functions such as fee payments and EFTPOS during these hours.
Late Arrivals
Students who arrive late must report to the Office Reception with their parent/guardian. Parents/Guardians must sign in at the Office, and children proceed to class, informing teachers that they have been marked as present at the Office.
Early Departure
Students may not leave the School premises during school hours without signing out through the Office Reception. Parents/carers sign children out at the Office, and the Office will contact the classroom to send the child to the Office.
Absence from School & Extended Leave
Parents/carers are required to notify the School via email, phone or app concerning the absence of children. Anyone not marked present and the School hasn't been notified will receive a text message requesting additional information about the absence.
Feeling Unwell
What are the procedures for students who feel unwell at School? Classroom teachers will send unwell students to the Office for assessment; parents/carers are contacted if necessary.
Unable to Participate in Sport
A note (or email) explaining the circumstances and the requirements for rest must be given to the Office, which will be passed on to the teachers.
Restricted Items at School
Students are not allowed to use mobile phones or music players that can take photos or videos at School.
Security of Ownership
The School will take no responsibility for lost or damaged items. All articles of clothing, bags, books, stationery items, calculators and so on must be clearly marked with the current owner's name. Valuable school time should not be wasted looking for lost or otherwise 'missing' articles.
Students should not bring to School more money than is needed for the day and must accept responsibility for its use and whereabouts. If, for some exceptional reason, a larger sum than usual is brought and needed for after School, it must be lodged (in a sealed envelope clearly marked with the student's name) at the school office for safe-keeping and claimed at the end of the day. School fees should be deposited at the School Office before school.
Lost Property
What are the procedures for lost property? Lost property will be returned to the children if it is named and unclaimed items are placed in the lost property area for parents and students to reclaim. The Lost Property basket is located outside the library. Please clearly label all items that are brought or worn to School.
School Diary/Planner
Students are given a diary/reading log. This can be used for communication between home and School. Please mark in home reading.
The Diary will be checked regularly by subject teachers and the homeroom teachers, and there may be intermittent inspections of the Diaries by either the Year Coordinators or the Leader of Student Welfare.
Messages for Students
How do parents contact their children during school hours? If you have a message for your son/daughter, please contact the school office at 07 5524 9404.
Change of Address/Family Circumstances
Parents are asked to promptly notify the School of any change of address, phone number, email address or place of employment. When parents arrange for students to stay with relatives or friends while they themselves are away from home for a period of time, the Office must be informed in writing. We need particulars relating to the name, address and phone number of relatives/friends and the duration of the student's stay.
Similarly, any change in family status, such as a separation, must be notified to the School. This is not only for administrative purposes but also so the School can work for the pastoral welfare of the child(ren).
School Visitors
It is a legal requirement that all visitors to our school premises must sign in at the front Office.
While this may sound daunting and unfriendly, particularly as we wish to encourage parents to come to the School and feel welcome, you must report to the Office first in order for us to comply with child protection legislation.
